Child Development Center

The California State Preschool at FRC provides a nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool children, ages 2-5 years.  The curriculum focuses on children’s cognitive, physical and social emotional development through observations, activities and play. The children are also taught a variety of skills through hands on experiences including hiking, exploring the fish ponds, horseback riding, gardening, and cooking projects.

Parents are encouraged volunteer any time with our open door policy, and as their child’s first teacher, we keep parents updated on their children’s progress and daily activities through our new Software Application: Learning Genie.

Student and community parents may enroll their children in the half day or full day classes at the Children’s Center which follows Feather River College’s schedule. Qualifying parents may be eligible for a grant that covers preschool expenses or a portion thereof.

Finally, as a member of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, we serve 3 nutritious meals a day, for free, to all enrolled children.   We also follow the USDA Nondiscrimination Policy which can be found at:  http://www.fns.usda.gov/usda-nondiscrimination-statement.
